What is This?

The Highlands of Scotland is the last main refuge of the red squirrel, Sciurus vulgaris. Red squirrels are a nationally endangered species and the aim of this site is to help us map their whereabouts, which will help us plan for their future. Please do send in your records and get involved. The future of the Highland red squirrel is in your hands and without your help, it may become extinct.
