Welcome to the first red squirrel hot spot in Scotland!
It can be visited at Glen Righ Forest, near the Corran Ferry,
south of Fort William. Click here for directions.
Last week, a very successful opening event
showed off the new hot spot to over 30 people. The
new screen on an all abilities path near the car park allows people
of all ages and abilities to 'spy' on the local red squirrel
population as they feed on hazel nuts from the feeders. You can see
one of the feeders shown below:

This is a great way for locals and visitors alike to see red
squirrels in action, and as this little boy demonstrates, it is fun
peering through the spying holes. If you are patent and
quiet, the squirrels should appear!

We are planning to have additiional hot spots
in the Highlands - watch this space to hear about more!
